Positive Behavioral Interventions & Support (PBIS)
Longfellow has adopted a proactive approach to creating a positive learning climate called PBIS. PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions & Support) is a school-wide system of support that includes proactive strategies for defining, teaching, and supporting appropriate student behaviors to create a positive school environment. A continuum of positive behavior support for all students within the school is implemented in areas including classroom and non-classroom settings.  www.pbis.org

PBIS at Longfellow:
•    Fosters respectful, supportive relationships among students and staff
•    Reinforces positive academic and social behavior
•    Provides an opportunity for positive interactions between students and teachers.

Students have learned how to create this positive school climate through R.O.A.R., Longfellow’s four traits for student success:
Respectful, On Track, Able, and Responsible
